Who we are

Waturrr is made by Bos Labs. If you have a question about your privacy, write to support@boslabs.io.

In short

• No account and no ads.
• We don’t sell or share your data for advertising.
• Nothing tracks you across apps or websites.

On your iPhone

Your water log, drinks, goal, reminders and tree are stored on your iPhone. They never leave it unless you use the iCloud backup.

iCloud backup

Optional, and on by default. A copy of your data is kept in your own private iCloud, which only you can read. Turn it off in Settings › Other settings.

Rivalries

Optional. To race friends, the app stores the following in Apple’s CloudKit public database, visible to the people in your rivalries:

• the name and colour you choose;
• an anonymous iCloud user ID that’s unique to this app;
• your daily amounts of the drinks a rivalry counts;
• the invites and splashes you send.

Anonymous usage data

Optional, and off until you say yes. During onboarding the app asks whether to share; nothing is sent until you choose Share. Change your mind any time with Share anonymous usage data in Settings › Other settings. If you share, we collect which screens are used and what’s tapped, plus crash and error reports, and send them to PostHog in the EU.

• This includes session recordings, with names and text fields masked.
• There’s no account and no person profile, and location lookup is off.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. Rivalry invites and splashes arrive through iCloud.

Who else handles your data

We don’t sell your data, and we only use these services to run Waturrr:

• Apple stores your iCloud backup and your Rivalries data in iCloud, and delivers notifications. Apple’s own privacy policy covers how it handles them.
• PostHog (servers in the EU) receives the anonymous usage data and crash reports, if you choose to share them. It processes them for us and doesn’t use them for anything else.

How long we keep it

• Data on your iPhone and in your iCloud backup stays until you delete it.
• Rivalries data stays after a rivalry ends, so everyone keeps their record, until you delete it with Delete my iCloud data.
• Usage data and crash reports are kept for up to one year, and session recordings for up to 30 days. Then they’re deleted.

Deleting your data

Go to Settings › Other settings › Delete my iCloud data. It removes you from every rivalry and deletes your scores, the invites and splashes you sent, and your iCloud backup. Invites and splashes other people sent you can only be deleted by them. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. To stop sharing usage data, switch off Share anonymous usage data in Settings › Other settings.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to support@boslabs.io and we’ll answer within 30 days. Usage data has no account or person profile attached, so we can’t pick out yours; turning sharing off stops any more being sent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Waturrr is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we’ll also mention it in the app’s release notes.
